The SAS 9311 8-port and 4-port, 12Gb/s SAS host bus adapter series provides enhanced connectivity and the highest performance to large storage enclosures for high-end servers and devices for internal storage or connectivity.

The SAS 9311 HBA series is based on the SAS 3008 IO controller and integrates the latest SAS and PCI Express® Enhanced functionality technology in. Each host bus adapter also supports 8 or 4 SAS ports operating at a 12Gb/s data transfer rate, which can reach over 10000 IOPS. The 9311 adapter series supports 8 PCI Express channels that comply with the latest PCI Express 3.0 specifications. In addition, these adapters are backward compatible with previous SAS and PCIe products through automatic negotiation and provide SAS data transfer rates of 12, 6, and 3 Gb/s per channel, as well as SATA data transfer rates of 6 and 3Gb/s per channel.

The SAS 9311 adapter series provides integrated RAID (0, 1, 1E, and 10) support. Because of simplified configuration options and IR firmware support for its 6Gb/s SAS Host adapter, these integrated RAID solutions provide low-cost choices for the server or workstation market, requiring additional performance, storage capacity, and/or redundancy of RAID configurations.

Integrated RAID provides unique performance and reliability advantages, including reduced CPU levels and operating system independent volumes.
